Thank you very much!
I'm really glad that you liked my game this much.

It means everything.

At the beging. Thank you for giving me a key!
This game was incredible and I can't wait to play more. So atmospheric and I really didn't expect what is going to happen next. The are reminds me a littlebit of Silent Hill!

Also the story behind it... I don't know what to say to that. You really nailed with this game. I really wanna see what full game includes. That teaser what you left to the end was so good and disturbing!

Thank you very much!

This game. Is. Terrifying, creepy, stress-inducing, mysterious, soul-retching, stunning, and absolutely beautiful. One of the most exciting indie horror games I've played... ever. Twice, I was moved to tears, memorized by the storytelling of a tragic case of Adam. This is a must play for horror fans and aspiring game devs alike. From the textures to the lighting, to the sounds, absolutely everything sold me into the experience of true terror. Adam, you are surely the next Scott Cawthon if you continue with pursuing this genre. You have earned a lifelong fan and support. Hats off to you, you twisted beautiful soul.

I went speachless.

Thank you so much for this comment, and your video.

These are really hard times for me yet, and your thoughts means a lot to me.

Many many thanks again!

I was gonna cover this game in a video or during a stream but wasn't able to due to the game being a bit demanding on my PC, so I just wanna start off by saying that I'm sorry about that. I really tried.

I was able to get it to run well enough to play through it though, so I thought the least that I could do is to leave a comment to just say that: what you've done here is something special.

This is a beautifully crafted indie horror game filled with a lot of emotions. Don't go into this thinking it's just a regular indie horror game because it's not. It's not a spookfest riddled with cheap jumpscares.

As someone that was mentally abused by my father, a man that tore my family into pieces, as a child, I just want to tell you, Adam: thank you for making this.

Thank you very much!

I’m really glad that you liked my creation that much.

When I started the developement 3 years ago, one of the most important goal was for me with this whole thing to somehow say other people that they are not alone with this problem.

The the release in June 22 containes a detailed options menu for people who whant’s to record the game.

Thanks.

Your past was obviously hard, but it's amazing to have created such a good game based on it. I look forward to the next amazing update

Thank you very much!

I am working on it so hard. June 22 is almost here!

(+2)

I'm not sure if I missed the part with the enemies, but for the most part it was smooth sailing for me.

(+1)

adam thank you for the great opprotunity to play your game, i really appreciate you reaching out, you did an awesome job!

Thank you! I can't wait to see the part 2 :)

Hi Adam,

Thanks for updating the game & also letting me know about the specific bugs you have fixed.

Upon boot up of the new update I noticed a lot of visual changes and also the gamma has been improved a lot also. Visual prompts are now there & some of the environments are different. The game also runs alot smoother also, so some optimisation has clearly been made.

Well done!

I have supported you by donating some money as I really feel you are working on something very important here & it has so much potential.

I loved the interactive teaser part at the end about the 22nd june update. Very cool & original.

I made a part 2 of the video. Hope you enjoy & keep up the good work.

Aaron

Thank you very much Aaron!
I am working on this really hard, and it means a lot to hear your thoughts.

I'm going to print out your comment, and put it on my wall :)

Many thanks again!

Adam Dubi

Eagerly awaiting june 22nd! Let me know if there is anything else I can do to support!

Really enjoying the game so far. Thank you so much for sending it to us, we hope you enjoy the first part of our playthrough, Matt can't wait to play more.

Thank you!

This game is amazing! I have not played a game that gave me the feeling of Amnesia: The Dark Desent since Amnesia. The atmosphere is perfect and every turn I made I felt like this was it. Here it is. You don't over populate the game play with jump scares or overly complecated puzzles. Every new section had it's own element of horror which genuinely had me scared from start to finish.

I really wanted to make a video for this but for some reason the video comes out with lag. I'm really sorry about that and will continue to do all I can to look into what I can do on my end to fix this problem.

Can't wait to play more and see what other games you develop in the future!

Thank you very much.

Your words are mean a lot to me as a solo developer.

Wow, really enjoying this game so far! I have part 1 right here and will absolutely add the rest of the parts along with my concluding thoughts. I cannot wait to play more <3

Looking forward to it!

Thank you very much.

I can't wait to see the next part!

100% this, I can't wait to play more. This is what real atmosphere and horror gameplay is thank you so much for the opprotunity

Thank you very much.

I can't wait to see the upcoming part!

Got the game and downloading it rn, hopefully this feels as good as it looks!

(+1)

Hey!
I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

(+1)

I know you don't remember this reply, but thought of letting you know that this game is amazing! and if I wasn't broke I'd have donated more to your project! The game sure has some gamebreaking bugs, but that's gonna get fixed soon hopefully! This game would've been world-breaking if you just had a bigger budget

Good luck!

Thank you very much.

I'm working on it really hard.

I hope that when I have everything patched up in the final release, I can gain attention to the many many children out there, who live like an animal in a cage.

Adam you sending me this was the highlight of my week and I know it took a while to make but I'm finally done with this terrifying masterpiece. It looks extremely promising and I really am surprised that my scared self got through it but I'm glad I did and now i'm looking forward to the rest of the game. Mostly I'm dying to know who that figure is and how the hell did you come across this government fortress!?!?

Really though this looks like a huge milestone for both of us so congratulations and thank you for giving me this oppurtunity.

Thank you very much for you kind words.

I’m really glad that you liked my game this much.

Really enjoying the game! I'm not the biggest fan of horror, but I love the sudtleness here, no jump scares is nice. Ambiance is really well done, keeps me tense the entire time waiting for a scare that I will probably not be ready for.

Didn't see any bugs (yet), which is really nice. Graphics look amazing but even with 2 recording windows open, I had no problems with anything. Very well optimized from the looks of that which seems rare in my expierence with 3D games here on itchio, especially as detailed as this.

Also, thank you so much for the email! Look out for more from me on this game in the next few days, because as scared shitless as I was playing it, I can't wait for my next recording session with it. You have trully made an amazing work of art from a terrible situation. I hope you enjoy the video, and look foward to the next part very soon.

Hey, first off nice game, but I was not entirely satisfied. Of course my computer can run it, but with a lot of lag. One thing that is totally needed is a graphics option to turn it down. I really feel like the game will  do well. I know it well, but of course the game needs some work. Otherwise I am totally looking forward the future of this game.

Hey!

Currently I working so hard on a detailed options section for the main, and the pause menu too with resolution scale and quality settings.

Thank you!

Adam Dubi

I wanted to download the demo to see if you implemented key rebindings, but the demo won't install... :/

Currently this is not an installable application. You can launch the game by open the AdamLM.exe file.

The demo you downloaded is not containes the files that the early acces version has. The demo is a completely different packaged build.

Thank you!

Sorry, I wasn't clear: I CAN not install the demo, I get a message along the lines of "This title is hosted on an incompatible third party website"... install button is grayed out.

Hey! Please try it now. I changed my cloud provider service.

This is definitely something special, I feel that when you finish the game and get everything patched up you will definitely have something very substantial, it feels like I'm standing on the surface of something much larger and makes me hopeful for the future updates.

Its got the kind of style of something like penumbra which kind of brought me back to my childhood (Penumbra 2006 tech demo was the first real horror game I ever played) but the story seems to be something more personal and emotion based like Silent Hill or something. I like psychological horror being used as a way to explore trauma or personal subjects and etc. I really loved the feel of the environments especially and just the general ambience, very industrial and subterranean feeling. Moist walls and rusted metal, heavy machinery and squealing pipes. Its an aesthetic I really dig for whatever reason and there's just the right touch of unhinged abstractness, hell I bet it will become more unhinged later on but I'm getting good vibes from this is what I mean. I also like the exploration and level design and how you have to explore the areas room by room and collect items and then figure out what does what. The fact that the areas seem to be at least semi-interlinked is good too and helps with the general feel of exploration, it generally feels quite open and I like that.

The only critiques I would have to say is that it seems like a lot of the time when your jumping and crawling on top of things you can get stuck fairly often, so I think player movement might need some tweaking and just general stuff like making sure the player does not get stuck on stuff. For me I was able to just save and quit and then press continue and I would be un-stuck so It didn't ruin it for me but there was 3 or so times I got stuck like when jumping through the shutter on the other side of the iron gate for instance. Other than that I think there should be a bit more options and graphical settings, you know just general technical stuff. I can't comment on the enemies because I kind of blew through the puzzles and stuff but That's just because I have a lot of experience with this type of horror game and the one or two times one appeared I stayed way clear of them and made sure they would not see me.

Thank you very much!

The 3 years of development has paid off while I readed your words. I think I going to print out your toughts to hang on the wall above by monitors.

Tomorrow the next update will going to fix these issues.

Thank you very very much again.

Adam Dubi

First off thanks for giving me this game for free!  I thought that this game was awesome, and very unsettling.  I love the environment, and the art design to this game!  It took me awhile to find some of the objects that I need, but once I did the rest of the game kinda made more sense.  Thanks for making the game, and sharing your experience.

Hey Adam, I replayed the beginning due to the bugs you had mentioned and had no idea I'd missed out on so much. The game is at it's best during the environmental horror and storytelling sequences and it's honestly some of the best I've seen. However, the monster section absolutely destroyed the game for me. The deaths destroy all the tension, the puzzle reset seemed bugged and the number of times I was halted due to the enemies showing up in a situation where there was literally nothing I could do just ruined the entire experience. I still think your environmental design, art and sound design are some of the best out there though.

Thank you very much to play my game CoalFire!
The truth is...

I was afraid that the sound design, and the storytelling visuals, are not going to be enough for a video game, but I always feel that I don't have to put that part in the game. I was really nervous about that specific part of the game when I released it.

You opened my eyes and you was god damn true!

I'm going to fix that part ASAP.

Thanks!
Adam Dubi

This game seems to be very penumbra esque. But i see only ways how you could fuck this up. :/ What are the plans? Will the style of the demo be the guiding style? Will it stay great? I really hate these horror puzzle games that have useless human stories :/ Man Penumbra was great.

(+1)

My game has a story that happened to me when I was a child.

I tried to detail the environments as much as I can because I don't want people to only focus just the narration.
Yet, I don't want to spoiler anything, but for some examples:

At some point in the game I have a long staircase that's contains no light. When you go in there, you have to light up the environment in order to make progress. This represents that what is waiting for you down there is a deeply buried memory in my mind, that was hard to live trough.
When you take a look at some writes on the walls in the whole game, it says you already deep underground below zero elevation - so in my mind.
And you can find so many objects or physics based props that just don't fit in the game's environmental design, like the cardboard boxes that tries to represent a move on to a new home, or the old forklift, the bunny, the jawbone, and all of the tools that you can use.

Some games has a really great story, but no game play.
The plan is to don't make one of those.
I wanted to merge the story, the environments, and the game mechanics together best as I can, so that's why I designed Adam - Lost Memories in this way.

Thank you!

Adam Dubi

Yee gameplay is really important. Its an amazing demo game. You go man. Its much more reasonable then the others.

Hey Adam, I'd love to speak with you about the game for Wireframe magazine (https://wireframe.raspberrypi.org). Please get in touch if you are interested! hoekstra.kyle(at)gmail.com

Hey! Of course, thanks for asking.

I sent you an email.

Solid start! Some pretty scary moments in some beautifully horrible environments. My only slight complaint would be that there aren't any brightness or gamma settings at the moment.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you!
I've just added a brightness slider to the options menu. It was only a 10 minute task, but definitely a must have.

hey adam just came across this game and am very intrigued. i have demo and play tested a couple prerelease games and was wondering if you allow me to do the same here? i need a solid terror filled series lol

I spent some time reading the description properly after playing this game, it obviously has a really poignant and personal message. Really good and interesting experience 🙂

(+1)

Thank you Adam for reaching out and providing a key for this phenomenal experience. Immersive and really touched on me a emotional level. A few bug issues here and there, but I overcame them all. This is the full demo and I can't wait to see what you do in future with this amazing project!

Hi Adam, first of all, thanks for the email & thanks for a copy of the game.

I really enjoyed what you have created here & it goes to show in the length of time you have put into this just exactly what you can achieve. I honestly think you have a triple A calibre game here, something that I feel should be published properly. It's very rare these days that you find something like this with so much polish for an indie developer.

Your art direction takes clear inspiration from the likes of Silent Hill & H R Geiger, something that the two marry well together.

This game spooked the hell out of me, another great aspect of any horror game. The atmosphere & attention to detail make it very striking when playing. There were several points in the video I forgot I was recording because I was just so drawn to the whole world you have created.

One thing I would like to mention though is, when I am finally getting hunted by the monster, I have started the generator and attached the valve & used the wrench to tighten, however the gate still does not open. It keeps saying rotate on the valve. Is this a known bug at all? If so, I can't get passed it, so my video only shows up until this point.

Please find my video below. Hope you all enjoy.

P.S - Please do not message me asking for a download link. You really won't regret buying this for 5.99. Please support the developer so he can continue making great games like this.

Thank you for play my game and all of the kind words.
I have investigated around 50 bugs in the past 3 days after release, and packaged the game in every five hours to put the new bug free releases up in there. (3 day no sleep bug fixing rush basically)

I'm sorry about that you have ran in to this bug, but now it's fixed like the others.
I have redesigned some elements of the game to make it more playable, because thankfully I've got so many really great feedback in these days like yours.

Thank you.

Adam Dubi

Thank you Adam.

I will be doing a follow up video at the end of the week because I really want to progress & see more of this great game that you have crafted.

Aaron

Amazing Atmosphere, sound design and level design are on point, making you see stuff out of the corner of your eye and sometimes asking yourself if it's really even there. Story is interesting with future updates set to unveil more as the game goes on. Definitely worth it.

So far, color me impressed! The atmosphere and environmental detail are of AAA quality and so far the game has managed to keep the player in control 100% of the time. I'm looking forward to digging a bit more into the narrative of the game as I ran into a bit of a hiccup early on, but I see that you've already sent out an update fixing exactly that. You've got some serious talent my man!

How do we go about getting the game?

Thanks for asking!
Sorry but I have internet connection difficulties yet, when the upload finishes I'm going to share it back in here asap.

The game is up now!

I think there's a bug with the door missing the handle. I tried using the bent wire on it, but it's not working. I even restarted the game, but no luck.

The truth is, that small door is actually missing a legit handle. When you opened it with the bent wire was the actual bug. You can use the wire in a ventilation hole near the ceiling in the downstairs area.
Before you proceed I definitely recommend to download the most recent release. I have internet connection difficulties but an hour and it will be up.

How do i get access to this game?

You can gain access right here, when the upload finishes I'm going to share it back in here asap, but now I have some connection issues.
Stay Tuned

The game is up now!

I thank the developer for a key, although I definitely would've bought the game had I run into the page during my daily strolls when looking for new indie horrors, people should definitely support this developer!

Thanks so much Adam for hitting me up!
