First episode and the sneak peek play well, look incredible, sounds amazing and is overall just a fantastic experience, but what tf is going on with episode 2? A year ago it was 90% finished, with seemingly no change since then? I understand if the 90% turned out to be 75%, but the lack of communication since SEPTEMBER LAST YEAR is pretty lacklustre. Nonetheless, hope everything is going well for the developer, and I don't wish to throw any shade, cause I couldn't even make a single asset for a game; I only wish there was more communication.

EDIT: I saw the comment made by the developer further down. It's nice to see some form of update, especially considering there still seems to be a lot of passion for the game, along with unique approaches to sound design, to put it mildly.
I apologise if the previous statement does come off as frustrated, but I'd still recommend somewhat regular updates via the development log or something similar. Keeping your fans and supporters appraised of the situation is a sure-fire way to avoid having your comment section look like it does on this page. Once again, best of luck, godspeed and have fun with it.

(+1)

Hi Guys! im a founder edition buyer. Any dates for the second episode??? Keep the good work!

(+1)(-8)

Problem is a lack of communication with users (customers). Nobody would question anything if dev just tell us how far is it from release (month, 6 months, a year). Doesnt matter how long just that we have some basic deadline so that we dont ask questions all the time if the release is more than 6 months away but we will ask in 6 months whats happening and we should be getting some answers. Also it would be good to put game on Steam as a demo or early access but that thing didnt happen. Question is why? Also if the dev doesnt think this will be completed in some reasonable time it would be fair to just say it. No one will hold a grudge but majority of people doesnt have time to wait on this 5 years. I mean either you work on this full time or part time every day or you dont, because if the dev works on this 3 hours a week or even month then I cant see this completing soon. I bought it for 10 bucks and I had my share of fun but I dont expect anything more from this. If second episode comes I will play it but if not I wont be mad.

What a rambling useless giant paragraph that you wrote...

(-4)

Yes

I don't understand why people hate criticism so much. If it weren't for criticism, in this world everyone would do whatever they want, however they want, and nothing would give a head or a tail. Plus, jasmin071's post isn't so much critical as it is an honest reminder to the developers. And he's right... Sure, give my comment the dislike too, because that's the only thing you know how to do. You get a little bit of a grievance and you kick around. Lots of people here have begged the developer to give some feedback, some hope... but think about it... if Adam doesn't make his project known, the project will fade into the oblivion. I honestly don't want him to post a release date for the second episode here, even an approximate one... it would be fine with me if he posted a few times a month that he's okay and working on the project. There's nothing wrong with that...

Constructive criticism is one thing. Patronization and complaining are another and both unnecessary to the process of creativity and time.

It takes professional devs working under the highest companies with the latest techonologies years to complete a full game. This is a single dev, and at the time of my writing, it’s been less than a year since  they single-handedly released Episode 1. All any of us have is time to wait for something we want to be released.

I understand receiving a release date would relieve people. But being given a time frame won’t finish the next piece any faster, and isn’t even a guarantee. Even top developers from top studios will attempt to assuage the crowd’s impatience only to push release dates again and again, with people feeling pissed off anyway. Besides, record shows that the smaller the studio, the more likely a release will be closest to when content is more or less “finished” rather than way in advance.

Just chill. It’ll come out when it comes out and be as great as the first. If people don’t wanna wait, then forget it. If you don’t want to forget, then wait.

whats happening with this? Thought a second episode was coming

(+1)(-1)

Meanwhile I doubt that there will be a full version. Purchased very long time ago, no news since then. Too sad...because the paid demo was nice.

(+1)

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Looking forward to the next Episode. Keep us posted

(+4)(-2)

A year has already passed and there is no news on the game, how should purchase support work? or that the developer got lost with the money from his demo?

(+1)

As I said before: Don't worry, it will be out in 2026, December probably. No rush, everything is under control :)

hahaah

(+3)(-4)

Maybe you should take a better approach with your questions next time. After playing and experiencing this game he created, I am fully confident that he will /is producing more episodes.

Don't assume negative reasoning, it makes you look like a pompous idiot.

ps - keep up the great work Adam. You are an incredible artist.

(+3)(-2)

Maybe you need to read the other reports/replies here before assuming..... @bigbigcarl.

End of the day OP is correct, it's been a year and a lot of promises were made.... With no responde from Adam himself of emails from myself and many others in this comment section and the fact that he hasnt posted for MONTHS when the game will acc be released given people have PAID FOR this in full!

(-3)

Yes, you are the only one who understood what the problem was and did not write, childish nonsense

(+2)(-1)

I feel this. I paid about $25 total, which was at the time, to get my name included in the credits.... Never heard back from him funny enough, and multiple people had the same. Over a year since this was "nearly there." With no word back. Honestly think it's a con at this point and I've wasted $25.

(+4)

Read the comments two months ago and it's clear he's still working on the game. If it was a con, he could just have pretended to not see all these comments, but instead Adam Dubi replied with a very long and detailed response about his current progress in the game that is obviously not just fabricated.

Also, the sheer amount of detail and passion that is on display in chapter one alone makes it pretty clear that it's not just some scammer - they would try to maximize their time by making something a lot less detailed.

(-6)

fuck, open your fucking eyes, bitch, and read carefully, he doesn’t have more than one social network where he would post about his work like many normal developers!!!!!!

(+1)

Maybe read my comment and then try again. I said scroll down to two months and read the dev's comment. And if you actually played the game, you would realize this guy isn't exactly your average developer. He's not the most communicative but he makes up for that with how insanely talented he is at game design. You play the game and tell me another game made by a single person that's higher quality than this.

wow nice work

(1 edit) (+1)

Heeey i really enoyed Episode 1 it was amazing!!!!! i cant wait for Ep2. when its gonna be ready. I purchased the game 260 days ago LOL :D

(+2)(-1)

Don't worry, it will be out in 2026, December probably. No rush, everything is under control :)

(+1)

hahahha thank you s much :D

(+1)

Hey there

@AdamDubiGames Could you please respond to my email ?

(+1)

Hey there man, it's a great game but I'm facing some challenges when I play it on my PC. My graphics card is AMD Radeon TX 5700 RX and I use AMD Radeon Ryzen RX Vega 11. Is there any way to tune down the quality of the graphics so that the game runs faster? Because I tried to reduce the resolution but it keeps on automatically revert to 100%. Any help would be great!

(+1)

The graphics settings are really weird, even though it has a slider so you'd imagine you could set the values to whatever you like it turns out there are actually pre-sets. So you need to drop the value low enough for it to jump to that pre-set graphical value and sadly there are no indications as to where these value pre-sets are on the bar. Just play around with them starting from the lowest end to the highest to get what you want

(+3)

I’m foaming at the mouth and scratching my neck for Episode 2

(+1)

Really enjoying this game. Wonder if it would be possible to get VR support. That would be amazing.

(+2)

I IMPATIENTLY await the next episode for this dude, love from Sapphire Lotus!

(+2)(-1)

Absolutely incredible game, although a little short. Graphics, sound design, and animations are out of this world. I have never seen a game as polished as this one, and the fact that a single person made this blows my mind.

If you read through some of the creator's responses, it's clear that he's extremely skilled at all aspects of game design, and very passionate about this game. The game has not been abandoned although it may be a while till Chapter 2 comes out (based on his responses). That being said, the game only takes a little over an hour to complete, but that hour is one of the best I've ever had in videogame history.

P.S. I can see the inspiration from SOMA (my favorite game of all time), and I love it!

(+2)

Any news on when the vr version is going to drop? I played a bit in uevr then stopped to wait for your version.

(-2)

i really wanted to play this game but i use controller and when i push forward the controller that you have in the game keeps popping up and theres no way to remap the controls i dont have the best desk for keyboard and mouse is why i use a controller mainly.

(+4)

This game look's absolutely astonishing and keeps you on the edge of your seat the play and feel reminds me of the new Resident Evil Games. if Capcom was smart, they would hire AdamDubiGames to bring another level horror to their company

(+1)(-1)

I made this gameplay about 6 months ago but this game was AMAZING I even was streaming it and the dev stopped by! Subscribe to my channel if you like to watch all the best horror gameplays https://youtu.be/1QN_lkAOo88

Foremost, this game is looking "Very" promising.  Question - As I play the game, the controller keeps popping on screen, even after I chose to hide it.  The controller blocks most of the game view area.  Is there a way to keep the controller hidden, until I do need to use it? Apology, up front, if I'm asking this question on the wrong forum. Thanks

(+3)

Chordosis changed my life

(-9)

so, another fraud. It's sad but outside steam is a rule.

(+3)

I think this is a solo dev.

How is it a 'fraud'? It's a single SOLO dev, and things take time - also, you don't know what has been going on in their life, right?

(-1)

be calm and try to read the comments before mine, till 2 months ago this "project" seemed abandoned. RIGHT?

Calling it a fraud and getting upset, shouting and telling me to be calm all at the same time; you sound confused lol.

He's not wrong.

Seems so... I haven't heard back after paying $10 extra to have my name added.

(1 edit) (+1)

It's a solo dev and the game is worth the money paid.

(+2)

Do we have a better time frame for release of episode 2? I am eagerly awaiting your response! I love the demo and am very much looking forward to episode 2! keep up the good work!

(+13)

Thank you for the feedback and for the kind words! Truly means a lot!

I'm working simultaneously on all of the episodes of CHORDOSIS almost daily. I'm still hesitant to say a proper release date, but it's coming together nicely.

Random status on EP2:
Currently I'm working on the 17 language localization and of how I implement it.
This means most of my writing is finally kinda finished I guess :D and I'm really happy about it!
It was not the cheapest, but I worked together with a professional AAA localization company.
(Bad translation is worse than having none, and same applies to voice acting in my opinion.)

So, in this week I've worked mostly outside the Unreal Engine doing 2D stuff in GIMP and Blender with localized 2Dtextures (zoom in to a newspaper and it's naively in Chinese for you or something) (yes, I really do hate UI text walls, and text-based storytellng should be part of the game world) so there will be a lot of ingame 3d objects in your own language.

In this week I made a lot of progress with my sound design as well!
My carpenter neighbor was on a holiday this week so it was finally kinda quiet, and I was able to record a lot again.
Just like the fist episode, the second one will have a really "go nuts" ending with insane sound design.

I made this weird contraption in my basement/workshop for the sound of that segment (mostly).
I used some metal wires on a large hard iron plate, tensioned with clamps on wood, and it has barbed wire loosely all over on it.
I just love making my own instruments, but they usually looks awful, and something out of a SAW movie lol.

But this one sounds really really cool.
Sounds really screechy and eerie!
I did some fields on it as well, and it works great with my impulse responses.
In Monday, I just cant wait to finally implement it as the sound of
well...
.... :D  I'm not gonna spoil it ....

but I'll probably spend an another week on this, to finally change out my placeholders of the ending of EP2.

Gamedev takes a lot of time, effort. I truly believe I have something in my hands here.
CHORDOSIS quickly became my job, and a huge part of my life. I'll do my best to make it fun, and to give goosebumps.

(+2)(-1)

I can't wait for it. Take all the time you need. Do you think it would possibly come out this year?

(+1)(-1)

impatient de voir le résultat !!

(+1)

Hey @AdamDubiGames, thank you so much for the update!!!
I was beginning to get a little worried as I hadn't found where you might be active, and Chordosis is THE best India horror game I've ever experienced so far - and I have such high hopes for it.

Very happy to see you hear commenting, and it looks like you've been working hard - so thank you for that as well.

Nevermind the haters out there, this game is so unbelievably put together, and as solo project is bafflingly impressive; and as budding solo dev myself it is so very *INSPIRING*. :)

Keep up the great work, and have a wonderful day!!!

English only is better than bad translation man believe me

any updates on episode 2? i really am looking forward to playing your master piece

(-1)

Hello, I saw this game a long time ago and added it to my backlog with a note "play once all episodes are out", now I am seeing it's been over a year, and the last Dev log on here is from September 2024. Makes me wonder if the future episodes are still coming. Is there some timeframe/roadmap for the future releases? Is it going to be many more years then for this game to be completed?

(2 edits) (-4)

His Patreon is dead and questions about some news are not answered. Only some post with payment question was answered a month ago. Even on email he isn't responding. Sorry guys, but it looks like another abandoned project. If only he had at least started a Discord server where he could be mildly active once every day or two, but it's just suspicious that there's no place where it could be much more active... Nope... email is a far-fetched thing, and communicating through comments on itch.io is really kinda bad solution... o.o

(+4)

Hey, CHORDOSIS is not abandoned!
Working on this game takes a lot of time and effort, and I'm completely alone with it.

I'm really sorry that I can't quickly reply to every single one of you.
I wish I could afford proper community management with a discord server and such, but I have to keep this game under my scope.

I'm literally just a dude working on this from my bedroom for the past 4 years or so.

My Patreon was actually never live, but I left the link there in the case I'd have the time to give back to the community with cut-out segments from CHORDOSIS as standalone little games. (there's a lot of cut content, and I still planning to release them)
I was never published it cause I'd hate to see people supporting me Patreon, while I'm not a 100% sure I could give back with professional content.
Developing the main game takes basically all of my time.

My game is not for everyone I'm completely okay with that, and I created and designed the whole thing with the mindset of it.
If you didn't liked the first episode, and if you like to have a refund then please feel free to reach out to itch support, they're amazing, and I'm sure your get your money back.

(-2)

AdamDubiGames: For a moment I thought you weren't going to answer me, Adam, and I got carried away. I'm very sorry. And when I read your reply, I wondered why you were talking about money, and then I realized that in the heat of the moment I wrote that I wanted my money back... which I don't. Anyway, I can't tell you how pleased I was when you replied! And I understand about the Discord thing, but I still have a suggestion for you! How about writing at least once or twice a month at the end of an article about your game on itch.io that you're alive and well and still working on the project? And maybe even estimate in percentages how the next release is going... O.o For example: 84% of next update is done

Sorry again, but I'm glad I kinda made you write back... :'D Take your time with this game and take all the time you need, and you're still a hero to me when you're the only one working on the whole thing! But please make yourself known from time to time so people don't lose faith in this amazing project of yours! <3

That's a lot of extra work for a solo guy doing all the work.

If you need someone to help with anything @AdamDubiGames let me know.
I've done a couple levels for some early VR titles, have experience in Blender, UE4-5, Unity (bleh) and a bunch of other skills - and be more than willing to help to whatever ability I am able. :)

All good either way though, you're doing amazing!

I believe people would be more than happy to support if you were to have a proper Patreon setup, just to help you with development.

Nobody expects a AAA title - but this, from what I've seen so far, is even better than most of those I've played.

Absolutely top-tier work sir; if there is any way I can help, let me know!!!

(+3)

Hey, I released CHORDOSIS about 6 months ago, simultaneously with the devlogs to show people how the development of my game is taking a shape, and 6 months goes by quickly as a solo dev.

I've never shared any official release dates for the next chapters, because it simply just takes a lot of time and effort to create a relatively high fidelity game like CHORDOSIS from my bedroom.

I worked on this game almost daily for the past 4 years, and I will never give up on it.
Unlike a lot of fellow indie devs, who has a lot of projects come and go and never to be realized, I only have one project, and it's this one, CHORDOSIS.

The second episode was playable before the first one, but as I got more and more and more support, I went back to the drawingboard and reimagined, redone a lot of it for the sake of providing a quality experience.

I'm still very very hesitant about an official roadmap (with release dates) for my game. I will release it as soon as I feel like it's ready, and when I feel like I could provide the absolutely best I could do with it.

As I'm working on all the episodes simultaneously, I'm testing and replaying the whole game over and over again almost every night.

I'm really thankful for all the feedback, and I'm really sorry about the waiting, and I truly wish that I could reply to every single one of you.
I'm doing my best to give and release a bug-free, intense, atmospheric and immerse game just like episode one was.

CHORDOSIS quickly became not just my job, but a huge part of my life.
Sometimes I think, what if?... cause I could just release the whole thing in a couple of weeks from now, but I'm not gonna give up, nor give in.
There's a lot of work ahead of me, and I'm in love with every second of it.
And I know, that in the end of the day, I'll have something that's more than a game, I'll have something that I can be proud of.

(-1)

When is the next one coming out.... I need more!

Short and sweet, I look forward to the next one! Hopefully a bit longer. I had fun playing this. Well done.

Esperando ansioso el segundo capítulo de este gran juego

Adam, any update on ep. 2?

Waiting.... :D

I love your game but I have some suggestions. Resolution settings are unnecessary complicated. Just put all possible resolutions in a drop down menu. Also text (press any key) is too small on 2K monitor (2560x1440). Also is it possible to test episode two in early stage? And what is the exclusive content for Founders edition? Something that is available now or its a plan for the future? Thanks for answers.

(+1)

First of all, congratulations on the project. Nagyon vagany lett! I have so many questions. How long did it take you to make this? Are you a solo developer? Are you working in the industry? Did you have modelers working with you on this or was this a solo effort on your end? Sorry for the multitude of questions, but as a solo developer myself I am just super curios. I am extremely happy that the audience finally found you and wish you the best!

Great game. Love that opening, seeing the 3 lights move reminded me of something out of the X files. Will you be needing any voice actors for future titles?

when full release?

(-1)

Hey, sry to write this here but i thought your demo was AMAZING so i went to purchase your game Was met with error codes but was still charged twice and did not receive the game. Help?

Hey, Thank you so much for the kind words!

I just have a storefront here, and I don't manage any payments at all. Please reach out to the itch support with the error codes.

(+1)

Simply amazing. I bought the full version and made an account here just to come and say that was bloody amazing. One of the best looking PC games I've ever seen on my 3080ti and it was made by one person. Unbelievable. I'm left wanting more and a full size AAA game with deep single player campaign one day would be epic!!

(1 edit)

Hey Adam Dubi, do you have a link to the music you've used in the slideshow room? Those tunes are amazing, I was vibing so hard to them xD Did you make them yourself?

Also wanted to say, I have left a review but wanted to mention it here in the comments. Thank you so much for this game, the atmosphere and sound design is the best I've ever felt in a game before. Honestly I haven't experienced atmosphere like this since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and that game is in my top 6 of all time. You should be seriously proud of yourself and to even offer 30% off on this game, you're doing the lords work xD Well done Adam!

I'm having issues with the graphics settings being persistent. Setting to high which is all 0.7 or medium which is all 0.4 but when I go back in the sliders are all in different places. Only setting to ultra will the sliders stay at 1. How comes?

(6 edits)

Seems that there are certain values that the game will pick for you and depending how close you are on the slider to that value it'll set it to a higher or lower "pre-sets", bit odd.

Also I'm having serious framerate issues. Some parts of the game are running are 110 FPS and others are running at 29FPS. Most of the game jumps around from 55 - 80FPS.  Also there are segments like at the garage when you collect the fuel cannister that sometimes it'll have a stutter and drop to 15 - 20FPS and won't go back up, saving the game somehow stops it, very odd.

Great game but the optimisation of the graphics is a big issue. I'm also noticing strange light flashing artefacts when looking at the light sources or looking at the console when running the game in DLSS balanced or performance. Goes away when put into quality but the game runs really terribly. I'm using a 2060 RTX card with an i5 9600k and 16GB of RAM so I wouldn't think this would be an issue given the stated recommended specs.

Also when you get to the towers with the orange lights if the shadows aren't set to 1 the lights look blurry, have lines in them and looks as if they are made of squares. Wouldn't be so bad if you could adjust the slider but it's either 0, 0.5 or 1. The game won't let you set shadows or any other graphics setting to anything else other than it's predetermined pre-sets. Well it will but as soon as you leave the menu and go back into it, it's been set to its closest value pre-set as mentioned above in my first paragraph.

very cool game so far. The atmosphere is incredible, the sound design is top tier, and the environments are amazing. Loved the easter egg, and the second episode can't come soon enough!

I did experience a weird bug with the first cart that gives you an item. My frame rate got super low as I entered the room before you drop down into the area where you call the cart, so P saved and quit right after I hit the button. This caused the cart not to show the inventory and I couldn't grab the item when I loaded my save. Caused me to go on a wild detour looking for the item I needed. I decided to start a new file and everything worked fine after that. Just letting you know about an extreme outlier thing I encountered, but still an awesome game from a solo dev.

can't wait for more!

(2 edits)

first I played and finished the demo, it was pretty short but intriguing. Then I uninstalled the demo and downloaded the founder edition that I just purchased. I ran the game and instinctively clicked on "continue", I was instantly greeted wit the most annoying puzzle. I don't like starting a game trapped in a room or a corridor with a puzzle to solve to exit.

But I still didn't realize, I had to actually click on "new game" in the main menu to enjoy the founder's edition from the start. So I eventually gave up the puzzle and started a new game.

Looks promising, but the car's steering wheel is in bad need of centering. This bothered me also in the demo. And now I kinda dread t to think that I will still have to solve that corridor puzzle at some point in the game.

Other than that the atmosphere is TOP NOTCH, and the foliage is so realistic and detailed! The game as a whole is a work of incredible quality and I love it.

(+1)

What an incredible prologue to a very promising game! So looking forward to streaming the second episode for my community <3

(+1)

Dude, I just want to congratulate you. Good fucking job. Extremely good atmosphere, eargasm audio, what a sight for sore eyes this game is. Cannot wait for part 2.  Hopefully it's almost done. Keep up the great work!
